New Japanese Screens - Part IX - Ceremonial Gold Screens
Larger screens, covered with gold leaf but without a painted scene on them, known as "shikiten" in Japanese, are generally not for everyday household use, but are used as a backdrop to parties and ceremonies. Common applications are at wedding ceremonies, press conferences, parties etc. The golden sheen given off by the screen helps to brighten up a room with its warm glow.
Ceremonial gold screens can be made to order; however, there are two standard panel sizes, and screens can be ordered as 4- or 6-panel versions. The panel sizes are: 210cm/83in (H) x 70cm/28in (W), and 170cm/67in (H) x 60cm/24in (W). We can also have your your company's name or logo, event name, or message painted onto the screen to help promote your business. Please enquire about this service by email or telephone.
Feel free to send us an email message if you would like more information or have interest in any of the screens. When making an inquiry, please provide the screen's reference number or title.
