New Japanese Screens - Part VIII - Smaller Screens
The Japanese screens (byobu) shown are handmade and hand-painted by master craftsmen and experienced byobu artists in Kyoto, the center for this genre of Japanese art. These byobu have been created by a family producing byobu for over one hundred years!
The size of the screens are 23 in (H) X 59 in(L) or 59 cm (H) X 1.35 m (L). These screens are smaller than the standard size, making them ideal to place on a tabletop, mantlepiece, dresser etc, as well as to hang on the wall. Feel free to send us an email message if you would like more information or have interest in any of the screens. When making an inquiry, please provide the screen's reference number or title.
