Japanese Screens - Part X - Semi-Antique Screens
These semi-antique screens were made by the father of our supplier over 50 years ago and have a very different look to the contemporary screens which appear on the pages entitled Screens Part I - Part VIII. Most of these byobu are a bit dark as the gold leaf used in those days had a lot of copper and bronze, giving them a bit of a rustic look.
The screens displayed here have never been sold nor displayed (except at sales) and are limited to one piece, but with one current exception; once sold there will be no other like it available. The size of the screens are approximately 3 ft (H) X 6 ft (L) or 91 cm (H) X 1.82 m (L).
Feel free to send us an email message if you would like more information or have interest in any of the screens. When making an inquiry, please provide the screen's reference number or title.
